The Remy-Meter
The Remy-Meter provides a quick visual indicator of a restaurant's standing based on user reviews:
Awarded to restaurants that scores significantly above the rest
Given to restaurants with scores within the average range.
Assigned to restaurants with scores significantly below average
Used for restaurants with few reviews.
Scoring System
Remy provides rankings based on restaurant scores to help you find better dining options. These scores are calculated from user reviews and ratings, reflecting the number of ratings a restaurant has received. They do not indicate absolute superiority or inferiority.
Our scoring system is not a simple average. Each user is assigned an influence level based on various factors, with more experienced diners having greater influence.
To accurately reflect user opinions and make scores meaningful, ratings from experienced users who frequently review carry more weight. For example, a product may not receive a high overall score, even with very positive ratings, if it only has 2-3 reviews.
More recent reviews carry more weight, allowing restaurants the opportunity to constantly improve.
Ensuring Fairness
Remy operates as a review site in a neutral and fair manner. We will not remove reviews of any specific businesses. We will not change the scores of any particular store. We will not compromise this position even if the store is using a paid service.
Security and Integrity
The specific details of our calculation method are not disclosed and are regularly reviewed to prevent malicious actors from manipulating restaurant scores by fraudulently obtaining or abusing influence. We also shadow ban users who attempt to boost reviews or game the review system to maintain the integrity of our rankings.
