Mendokoro Ramenba BGC

Mendokoro had been on my ramen bucket list for a while, but I wasn't completely sold after my visit. Don't get me wrong, the broth was incredibly rich and flavorful, but I felt a bit sluggish afterward, probably from the MSG. However, their gyoza was absolutely amazing!

The dining experience was a bit unique, as customers are seated at a counter facing each other. While I understand that this is common in Japanese ramen shops, it can feel a bit awkward for someone like me who prefers a bit more privacy.

I enjoyed their ramen. It’s very tasty and comforting.

Every other ramen bar should be called Not Mendokoro, because that’s what they are. This place has the best ramen ever. We got the Gyoza, Shoyu and TanTanmen Ramen. You can tell the Gyoza is high quality; perfectly wrapped, flawless sear and juicy. The ramen broth is rich and savory, the pork is so tender it melts in your mouth. The noodles are perfection. Toronto doesn’t have ramen nearly as good as this place.
